After all these years and several characters later, Shringarpure is all set to return to the idea of being in a mythological show with Kehet Hanuman Jai Shri Ram.

On the small screen, it does become difficult to make a mark but that becomes rather easier when you have one character become extremely popular. A similar thing happened with actor Rajesh Shringarpure years ago when he played the role of Lord Krishna in Saarthi.

He almost became a household name but the actor, instead of following the idea of being stereotyped went on to diverse roles over the years.

Now, after all these years and several characters later, Shringarpure is all set to return to the idea of being in a mythological show with Kahat Hanuman Hai Shri Ram.

Of course, even though Shringarpure has had a diverse body of work overall, he did play an array of mythological roles like Arjuna in ’Draupadi’, Lord Shiva in ‘Om Namo Narayan’, Agni Dev in ‘Jai Mata Ki’ and Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, Lord Krishna.

In an interview with Bombay Times, Shringarpure said “I stayed away from the genre for a while because I started getting similar offers. As an artiste, you wish to explore different characters even if they are in the same genre. After some time, I started missing the challenge of playing diverse roles. Also, some deals didn’t materialise as I was occupied with prior commitments. Having said that, it’s never too late. I took up this show because I have always been in awe of Shani Dev, the God of justice.”

He added, “There are various challenges, including elaborate costumes, make-up, mannerisms and most importantly, the language. On the brighter side, if you ace this language in front of the camera, it boosts your confidence and makes it easier to pick up any lingo. Also, you grow as an actor since there are no real-life references to the character. You have to depend on your imagination and whatever you have read in the religious texts to make your portrayal convincing.”

We wish him all the best for this new show.
